Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve had the chance to sit down with a number of key folks from the Azure Stack team to capture some new content aimed at helping developers understand Azure Stack, what it means for them, and more importantly, how to get started building and deploying apps on the platform. Over the course of the 4 videos, embedded below, we show you how to get started with Azure Stack, example hybrid scenarios, setting up your workstation for remote connectivity to Azure Stack, the new profile and template validation tools, and finally, how you can build a hybrid CI/CD pipeline with Azure Stack, and in this case, Jenkins.
In this first video, I sat down with Ricardo Mendes, a Senior Program Manager on the Azure Stack team, to kick off the multi-part series on how developers can utilize Azure Stack for building, deploying and running their on-prem and hybrid applications. Ricardo outlines the key Azure Stack scenarios, and demonstrates not only how to interact with Azure Stack through the GUI and programmatically, but also showcases an example hybrid application spanning on-prem, and into Microsoft Azure.
Next up, I sat down with Matt McGlynn, a Program Manager on the Azure Stack team. Matt talks through developing templates for Azure Stack, API versioning, and a couple of new tools that help to ensure that templates you develop for Azure, work for Azure Stack without modification.
3rd up, I sat down with Shriram Natarajan, a Program Manager on the Azure Stack team. Shri talks through how you configure your developer workstation, whether you’re running Windows or Mac, to connect remotely into the Azure Stack TP2 environment using new VPN configuration tools.
Finally, I sat down with Anjay Ajodha, a Program Manager on the Azure Stack team, to talk through how you can build a hybrid CI/CD pipeline, in this example using Jenkins, across both Azure and Azure Stack, and automate key steps within your development process.
